Hello, my name is Chanceler Sundquist and this is my online portfolio. A cover letter, resume and work samples can be found under the corresponding tabs.

I am currently working as the Backflow Specialist and soon to be Journeyman for Evans Plumbing Inc. in Hailey, IDOriginally from Boise, ID, I am the first person in my family to graduate from college. I acquired my bachelors of science in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics from the University of Idaho. I am looking for a career that is sustainable in growth and provides opportunities for advancement.

While attending college, I worked for the University of Idaho Industrial Assessment Center (UIIAC) funded by the Department of Energy. Visited manufacturers and industrial facilities in the northwest to analyze ways to save on energy or reduce waste. Then compiled a report detailing inefficiencies and propose solutions to save resources (electricity, demand, natural gas, etc.) that in turn had associated cost savings.

My goal is to improve safety, efficiency, usability, and reduce the environmental impact of technology that people create an interface with on a daily basis. I believe that by applying this dogma to everything I do, it will ensure a better future.

Outside of work, I tend to stay consistently busy whether it be with my own home renovation, learning new skills, or planning my next outing. When I am home, I am continually working on projects around the house from plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and framing. It has been very rewarding to see the vast difference in where I live. And by working on my own house, I have been able to help renovate other peoples' homes.

As a hobby, I have taken to investing within the stock market. I find it to be a fun and ultimately profitable way to utilize my free time. It is rather new to me but I find interest, pun intended, in studying and applying economic theory to something that provides both immediate and long term rewards.

When I need time away from the house, we might make a trip to Boise to visit with family and friends or plan a day at the hot springs. In the summer it is nice to sit in the back yard and cast a line into the river for some trout. In the winter it is nice to cozy up by a fire with a good movie or show. It is also great to hit the slopes when the opportunity arises. There is just so much to do in this life, and I want to make the most of it.
